HS Girls Place 3rd at Mt. Hood

June 13 - Gresham, OR 

Saturday, June 11th the Northwest HS girls team woke up early and took to the road to compete at the Mt. Hood tournament hosted by Blue Crush Water Polo (Portland, OR) . After a three hour drive the girls hopped in the water and got right into the action, matching up against host club Blue Crush 18s. 

The girls started off slow, going down early in the first quarter. During the second half the girls stepped on defense but couldn't quite close the gap, dropping their first game 3-15. Game two told a different story as the girls faced off against Rain City (Bellevue, WA)  and can came ready to play. After four quarters the squad ended up securing a 10-0 to end the day 1-1. Sunday morning the girls had a great back and forth match against Blue Crush 16s but couldn't quite finishing things out, ending the game 3-6.  Game four of the tournament was a rematch against Rain City for 3rd pace honors. The girls defense led the way as the won the contest 10-3 to finish the tournament 3rd overall.

Congratulations to all the girls on a great tournament. The team will be back in the water June 24th for PNW Junior Olympics Qualifiers  at Curtis Aquatic Center.
