Northwest Goes Head-to-head with top California teams at Turbo Cup


14u Boys

The 14u Boys competed in the platinum division of Kap 7 International, facing their first real competition of the season.

In the first match, Northwest triumphed over San Clemente with a commanding score of 11-2. The team's offense and defense were in sync, securing their first win with confidence.

However, the journey for Northwest didn't come without challenges. In the second match, they faced a formidable opponent in Del Mar. Despite putting up a valiant effort, Northwest couldn't clinch the victory, and Del Mar emerged triumphant with a score of 9-2. The setback only fueled Northwest's determination to bounce back stronger in the following matches.

The third match witnessed a closely contested battle, with Northwest going head-to-head against South Bay United. In a nail-biting encounter, Northwest fought hard, but South Bay United managed to secure a narrow victory with a final score of 6-5.

In the final showdown, Northwest faced off against San Jose Express in a match that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Despite a fierce effort, Northwest fell short as San Jose Express secured an 8-7 victory.

16u Boys

In their opening match, Northwest faced a tough challenge against Foothill, resulting in a 9-3 defeat. Despite the setback, the team demonstrated sportsmanship and a determination to bounce back in the subsequent matches.

The second match proved to be a thrilling showdown as Northwest clashed with Stanford. In a back-and-forth affair, Northwest emerged victorious with a narrow 12-11 win.

However, the journey for Northwest didn't get any easier as they faced Lamorinda in their third match. Despite putting up a strong fight, Northwest couldn't overcome Lamorinda's defense, resulting in an 8-5 loss. 18u Boys

The Northwest 18u Boys competed in the Platinum Division of Kap 7, going up against some of the best teams in the nation.

In the opening match, Northwest faced off against Orange County and left no room for doubt about their prowess in the pool. With an outstanding display of offense and defense, Northwest secured a convincing 21-7 victory, setting the tone for their tournament campaign.

The following match against Poway proved to be a closely contested affair, with Northwest emerging victorious in a thrilling 11-10 finish. The team showcased their ability to navigate tight situations, displaying strategic acumen and determination to secure the win.

Northwest's first two wins put them in the top 12 teams for the tournament.

Facing La Jolla in their third match. Despite putting up a valiant effort, Northwest couldn't overcome La Jolla's strong performance, resulting in a 16-10 loss. The match highlighted the competitive nature of the tournament and the challenges that come with facing top-tier opponents.

Undeterred by the setback, Northwest entered their final match against 680 Red with determination to finish the tournament on a high note. However, the match proved to be a tough battle, and 680 secured a 16-9 victory.
