Northwest Water Polo Club recently traveled to Victoria, BC, to participate in the annual Spooktacular tournament. Fielding three teams—12 and under CoEd, 14 and under girls, and 14 and under boys—the club competed in five different divisions, securing two overall championships.

12 and under CoEd

The 12u CoEd team played in six matches over three days, finishing with a division best 4-1-1 record and clinching first place in their group. With an impressive unbeaten streak spanning five games, they secured notable victories against local rivals Rain City and Canadian opponents Saanich. The Northwest 12u CoEd team's stellar performance resulted in an overall first-place finish. Congratulations to the 12u team!

14 and under Boys

The 14u boys had a packed schedule, participating in three divisions—14u boys, 16u boys, and Open B Men's—amassing a total of 16 games across three days. In the 14u division, they competed against local team Bainbridge, Canadian team Saanich, and California-based Conquerer, finishing with a 4-2 record and securing the gold medal in the 14u division.

Remarkably, the 14u boys, with their deep roster, also entered the 16u Boys bracket. Despite facing older competition from Saanich and Riverside, they managed to outmatch Riverside, earning a silver medal in a more experienced category.

The competitive spirit didn't end there for the 14u team, as they faced off against more seasoned opponents in the Open B division. Battling High School Varsity teams such as Kennedy Catholic and Auburn Riverside, they displayed resilience but ultimately succumbed to the more experienced squads.

Congratulations to the Northwest 14u Boys team for securing first place in the 14u division and second place in the 16u division.

14u Girls

The Northwest 14u girls stood as the sole all-female team in a 14u division comprising CoEd teams from Canada, Washington State, and California. In their five games, the girls exhibited remarkable determination but fell short against their opponents. Northwest proudly commends our girls for their tenacity in facing off against CoEd teams, consistently bringing their energy and positive attitudes to every game. The club eagerly anticipates the promising future of this group.
