May 2 - Seattle, WA
Northwest Water Polo Club 16u Sameer Gowda has been selected for the USA Water Polo Cadet National Team. The freshman from O'dea was the youngest athlete selected for the 2023 roster. As a member of the national team, Sameer will travel to Greece for training and competition this summer.
Gowda's selection to the Cadet roster is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and talent in the sport of water polo. The USA Water Polo Cadet National Team's comprised of the top male water polo players in the country, usually born in '06 & '07. Selection to the team is highly competitive and is based on performance at the Olympic Development Program (ODP) Boys National Championships.
The ODP Boys National Championships is an annual event that brings together the top male water polo players from across the country to compete in a series of games. The event serves as a scouting opportunity for the USA Water Polo National Team Selection Committee, who identify the most talented players to represent the country at the international level.
Gowda's selection to the Cadet National Team is a significant achievement. Congratulations to Sam for all his hard work in and out of the pool. Northwest is known for its commitment to developing young water polo athletes and has produced many players who have gone on to compete at the college and national team level. Sameer continues this tradition of excellence while setting an example for future NWPC athletes. We wish Gowda and the Cadet National Team the best of luck as they represent Team USA in Greece this summer.
