NWPC 18u girls went 3-2 enroute to a 3rd place finish at the PSP tournament.

Jan 23 – Seattle, WA

Over the weekend the Northwest 18u girls to the pool at the Rogers Aquatic Center to compete at the annual Snowball tournament hosted by Puget Sound Polo (Tacoma, WA). Featuring women’s teams from around Washington and Oregon, the tournament ran Saturday through Sunday with each team playing five games. With a mix of 18, 16 and 14 girls the team put together a great weekend of water polo, posting a 3-2 record to earn a third place finish.

Game one had the girls coming out strong, earning a 12-4 win against PSP 18s in game one on Saturday afternoon. Game two against Rain City 16s (Bellevue, WA) told a similar story as the squad finished the game in dominant fashion. The girls last game on Sunday was a tough match up against OR standouts Blue Crush (Portland, OR). After four quarters of hard-fought water polo the girls fell short, putting them in semi-final game against PSP masters Sunday morning. Against the masters the girls put forth a great effort but couldn’t quite up with the older competition, dropping the semi-final to move onto the 3rd place game Sunday afternoon. In the 3rd place match the girls locked down on defense shutting down Rain City 18s 14-4 to take home 3rd place honors.

Over the weekend the girls team went 3-2 with solid wins over their 18u WA counterparts. Congratulations on a great weekend of water polo! The girls will be back in action this March at Orange County Turbo Cup.
