Supportive parents are the foundation of our community. Since 2013 over 500 athletes have been on deck and each one had a family willing to support their journey.

Parents can play many roles in sports: current or former athlete, coach, fan, motivator, role model or critic. A few studies have shown that family members may influence an athlete’s involvement and achievement in sport more than coaches. Parents also are the first and most critical agents at socializing sports. Below are a few articles that detail how to make sure you make a positive impact on your athlete's sporting experience.

Volunteer Sessions

Family support and involvement is vital to the success of our team.
Thank you for all that you do!

Each Developmental and Elite athlete family is asked to volunteer for 1 session this year (excludes Recreational families with athletes practicing on Sundays only).

A non-refundable fee of $250 will be charged on July 1, 2023 to any family that did not sign up for a volunteer position or did not fulfill their volunteer duties. Our team needs the support of the NWPC community and we ask that you help the club by fulfilling 1 volunteer session versus paying the fine.

There are 2 opportunities to become a volunteer sponsor ($1000 includes Gold level sponsor) each year. Please view the Sponsors tab on the NWPC website if interested.

If your employer matches volunteer hours for non-profit entities, please submit a request through your program coordinator in support of NWPC.  (Fed ID: 80-0954338)

Parents and athletes need to manage their SportsEngine accounts to ensure they get the most out of their Northwest Water Polo Club experience during each sporting season. With their accounts properly configured, athletes and their families will receive communications according to their preferences and be able to complete registrations more efficiently.  SportsEngine has created a Team Management Guide for Parents and Athletes that will help our members with frequently asked questions about our website and mobile app.
